I went home in January of 2011 to see my Dad because my sister, Glynis was telling me Dad is getting really skinny. I thought I should go home as soon as I could to see Dad. I arrived home on Maui and my sister and her daughter, Gena picked me up at the airport and went directly to see Dad at the nursing home. It was nice to see Dad.. Although, he had lost so much weight, he looked good, and happy to be with his family. My niece, Gena, was feeding him his favorite dessert, strawberry slices in vanilla ice cream. Dad did not recognice me at first it took him a while before his eyes were smiling and then he called out my name, "C A M E L A!" I knew he would remember me. During my visit, my sis and I would bring Dad filipino foods, pinackbet and rice, hawaiian plate lunch, but he could eat only so little...although he enjoyed every morsel that he could eat. He had lots of smiles. Sis and I sang the two japanese songs he taught us as youngsters...we also sang filipino songs, and danced a little you know da kine bon' odori kind dance... loll.... We forgot the words and the steps.. we laughed... It was nice to see Dad smile... He had a good time with us.. I know he was tired... He told us to go home!!!! He wanted to sleep. lol... we left.... only to come back the next day....
