Timothy Paul Battey's Obituary
Timothy Paul Battey died December 3, 2025 on Maui. He was born July 8, 1951 in Rochester New York, and was raised in Livingston Manor,New York, by his parents Donald J. And Emily B. Battey. He grew up the youngest of three boys, his two older brothers, Charles and Michael. He is survived by a nephew and bother https://Michael.Timothy attended Junior College and worked in Mental Health Assisting. He then served in the USAF as a Lieutenant. After an Honorable Discharge, he graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah with a B.S. in speech and writing. He later earned his Master's degree in Communication. He went on to teach at university level until leaving Utah and making his home on Maui in late 1980’s. During life on Maui, Timothy could be seen regularly, hitch hiking around Huelo, Haiku, Makawao and Paia. He was always clean cut and dapper in a freshly pressed Aloha https://shirt.Tim was a master of handcrafted furniture, he was adept at gardening and landscaping, cooking and catering, and tutoring kids and https://adults.Tim loved books, wrote a book, was a wonderful poet. He valued education, loved children, all animals and was always available to help friends and strangers alike. Though a simple minimalist, he was generous “to a fault”. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Maui Memorial Hospital, the VA, Hale Makua, and Hospice services. Timothy will be remembered for his kindness, intelligence, generosity, and his endurance to deal with his many challenges gracefully and courageously.
