Suzuki, Shizue's Obituary
On June 13, 2026, Shizue Suzuki, 94, of Lahaina and Wailuku, peacefully passed away at Hospice Maui.
She married Yukiya (Porky) Suzuki. They lived in Lahaina, and she was the smiling face that greeted you inside Nagasako Variety Store to get your Icee.
She later moved to Wailuku, where she loved spoiling her granddaughter, cooking and baking her signature dishes.
She was predeceased by her husband, Yukiya Suzuki; and her siblings and their spouses: Masaichi and Lillian Kawaguchi; Miyoko and Clarence Kubo; Kenji and Mildred Kawaguchi; Robert Kawaguchi (survived by his wife, Sakae); Yaeko and Noboru Matsuda; and Geraldine and Lloyd Matsui.
She is survived by daughter, Jan (Craig) Kakiuchi; her son, Colin Suzuki; granddaughter, Haley; and her surviving siblings and their spouses: Mildred (Paul) Yasuhara; Kenneth (Frances) Kawaguchi; Alan (Geraldine) Kawaguchi.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Kahului Hongwanji Mission.
Visitation will begin at 9am with a service to follow at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or Hospice Maui.
