Momilani Mona Thompson's Obituary
Momilani Mona Thompson, 76 of Haliimaile, died September 3, 2023, in her home in Haliimaile.
Viewing and services on Friday and Saturday, October 13-14, 2023 will begin at 5 pm, Friday evening, and 10 am till 1 pm on Saturday morning at Nakamura Mortuary. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku.
Mrs. Thompson was born on July 9, 1947, in Pauoa Valley on the island of Oahu. She was the daughter of Emily Kanohohale Kapahi and John Ho’oiho Kauhola of Oahu. Thompson was a homemaker married to and survived by Charles Thompson of Kula, Maui. Thompson is survived by her children:
Floyd “Bajo” (Diane) Kemfort, Alfred Kemfort, Andrew Kemfort, Cheryleilani “Cheryl” (Jonah-deceased), Elisia (Andy) Valentine, Revalation “Rev” (Michelle) Kemfort, Charles “Yaka” Thompson, Robert (Jennifer) Kemfort, Cassiopia “Cassi” (Randy) Yamashita, Apalonia “Apo”(Randy) Thompson, Charles “Chucky” Thompson, Hanai: Octavia-deceased (Joseph) Planesi, John “Otto” Redongo, and Randal “Kiki” Kauhola. 34 Grandchildren, 45 Great Grandchildren, & 1 Great Great Grandchild, 33 Hanai Grand & Great Grandchildren. Siblings: John Coston(d), John Kauhola(d), Grace(d), Alexander(d), Edith(d), Octavia(d), Elizabeth, Lynnette(d), Allegra(d), Alohalani, Robert(d), Francis(d), Gary(d), Llewelyn(d), Zachariah(d), Matthew(d), Ansley, Samuel(d).
Thompson loved celebrating her children's and grandchildren’s achievements and milestones. She loved going to the beach, celebrating holidays, feeding the masses, and making family reunions so no one would forget where they came from. Thompson’s most prized possession was her family.
