Marlon Nicolas' Obituary
Marlon Nicolas, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 10, 2025 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on November 28, 1961, in Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, to Dominador and Enriqueta Nicolas, who both preceded him in death.
Marlon worked for many years as a dedicated landscaper at Waikapu Golf Course now known as Kahili Golf Course, where he took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and kind spirit.
A devoted father, Marlon was always there to offer guidance and love. He lived life with enthusiasm and a generous heart – enjoying playing the guitar, diving, fishing, boating, and spending time with family. He loved sports, especially basketball and golf, and was an avid football fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Luz-Ann (Chris) Gaspar; and his cherished grandchildren Anson Nicolas-Kaiwi, Anisa Nicolas-Kaiwi, Teagan Gaspar, and Chris Taylen Gaspar Jr., who brought him endless joy.
Marlon is also survived by his siblings Roland (Florencia) Nicolas, Elizabeth (the late Juan) Vicente, Luzviminda Tavara (the late Alfonso), Emelyn (Mariano) Medrano, Ferdinand (Marilyn) Nicolas, Edilberto (Malou) Nicolas, David Vicente, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Manuel Nicolas, Faustino Nicolas, Imelda Vicente.
Marlon will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and the love he shared with everyone who knew him. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the family who loved him deeply.
A funeral service to celebrate Marlon’s life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Nakamura Mortuary, located at 1218 Lower Main Street, Wailuku, HI 96793 with public visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Cemetery at 2 p.m.
