Lavern Marie "Lovey" Gonzales, born October 24, 1965 in Wailuku, and raised Upcountry Maui, passed away peacefully in February 6, 2026.
Lovey was the beloved daughter of Gilbert and Betty Gonzales and the youngest of three sisters, Donna Camacho and Gilbert Kan Hai. She was a devoted and loving mother to her only child, Ikaika Paul Santos and a cherished mother-in-law to his wife, Caela Santos. Nothing brought her more pride and happiness than being a grandmother to their three children, who were the light of her life.
Lovey was an adventurous woman with a love for driving big trucks and living life with boldness and joy. Known for her warm smile and vibrant personality, she never met a stranger. A true social butterfly, she had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. Her kindness, laughter, and courageous spirit touched countless lives and will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
Lovey’s legacy of love, strength, and compassion will live on in her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
There will be no services, but the family will hold a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
