Kikuyo “Kay” Higashi Kubota of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family at the age of 89. Kikuyo was born April 1, 1936 in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan the 2nd of 6 children to Masayoshi and Fujie Higashi. She was a retired employee of the State of Hawaii.
Kikuyo is survived by her children: son; Mark (Shann) Kubota; daughter; Joy, and grandson; Jayse (Gary) Leavitt. Private Funeral Services were held. Nakamura Mortuary assisted with the services.
