Kaiona was, without any reservations whatsoever, the most important person to come into my life. She was, all at once, shy, reserved, raucous, a bit raunchy, angry, sad, tender, and always, loving.
She is the most intelligent person I’ve ever met. I hear it runs in the family, and I believe it. Her knowledge of things that interested her was exemplary. If she wanted to know about something, she’d go after it until all the available facts were wrestled out of the ether and then stored in her mind. And she didn’t forget. An amazing trait to see, until she would bring up something that I did… yikes
She understood me as no other person had in this world. She saw my flaws, she saw my fractures, and she saw my struggles. But she also saw my potential, my strengths, and my growth. She recognized in me many of the things she struggled with in herself. And she went about helping me without reservation. It wasn’t always pleasant, but I feel it was always for my betterment.
She is so amazingly beautiful, inside and out. She loved deeply. But also, she needed to feel loved deeply. And I do. I do love her deeply. And I always will.
I miss you, honey. So very much.
