Julia Piano's Obituary
Julia Piano of Waihee passed on December 19th, 2025 at the age of 103 at Maui Hospice, Kahului. Julia was born on November 24th, 1922 to Juana and Francisco Santiago of Paia Maui, and was the youngest of 12 children. Julia was predeceased by her husband, Vicente Piano, and her grandson, Derrick King.
A devoted mother to five Daughters, Laurita Ambrose (Benjamin), Haiku; Alice Clontz, Waihee; Cecilia King (Robert), Las Vegas; Caroline Brown (Nolan), Makiki; and Helen Uyehara (Stephen), Mililani. She is survived by her grandchildren, Sheila Bio, Clinton Ambrose, Angela Gannon, Allison Chan Wa, Jennifer King, Alexia Saimani, Nolan Brown Jr., Nicole Brown, Staci Barcial and Steve Uyehara. She has 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Julia will always be remembered for her devoted love, kindness, and abundant generosity for her family and others. Her many travels include Europe, Asia, and Las Vegas. Julia had a green thumb and loved to garden, producing beautiful anthuriums and orchids. The family would like to extend a sincere gratitude to Maui Hospice for the special care she received during the last few weeks of her life.
Funeral Services will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wailuku on January 26th, 2026, with visitation from 9:00-10:30, a mass at 11:00 and burial at 12:30 at Maui Memorial Park in Wailuku. There will be a reception to follow at the courtyard at St. Anthony of Padua.
