Juanita Venezuela Della's Obituary
Juanita Venezuela Della March 8, 1936 - December 12, 2024 Juanita V. Della, 88, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully at her home in the Philippines on December 12, 2024. She was born in Silag, Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines to Saturnino and Cresencia Venezuela. She was the eldest of 5 children. At age 24, she married her childhood sweetheart and neighbor Marcelo Della, a marriage that lasted 62 years. Her husband being an agriculture technician by profession, their main livelihood was in farming. In 1981 she immigrated with her family to Maui, USA for a better life. In Maui, the couple's home became the “Welcome and/or accommodation" center for many of the extended family members arriving from the Philippines. She worked as a housekeeper/housekeeper inspectress at Kaanapali Marriott Hotel until her retirement. When she became a grandmother, she helped raise her 5 grandchildren. At retirement, together with her husband, they spent doing what they both loved: growing a vegetable farm, many varieties of bananas and many kinds of fruit bearing trees which they sold to the Filipino markets to help support the church that they founded in the Philippines and also shared to family and friends. Juanita enjoyed traveling with her husband going annual trips to their birthplace in Silag, Sta. Maria, PI. where they built a home and a church. She traveled with her family across Hawaii, USA and Israel. Juanita Venezuela Della is preceded in death by her husband Marcelo Salvador Della. She is survived by her two daughters: Agnes (Arthur) Obrero and Tessie (Wayne) Dumalanta; five grandchildren: Marc Dumalanta, Christian (Samantha) Dumalanta, Vaughn Dumalanta, Arielle Obrero and AJ Obrerol; great grandkid: Malia McConnell Dumalanta. She is also survived by her siblings: Bonifacio(late Erlinda) Venezuela, Domingo ( Erlinda) Venezuela, Remigio (Natividad) Venezuela and Herminia ( late Pepito) Degracia; cousins, nephews and nieces. Juanita will be remembered for her strong faith in God, love of family and friends, her generosity, humility, sweetness and kindness. Wake service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Nakamura Mortuary from 6:00-9:00PM. Viewing and funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at King’s Cathedral at 8:00AM - 12:00PM. Burial to follow at 12:30 PM at Maui Memorial Park, Kaahumanu Garden.
