Jon Kanani Peters' Obituary
Jon Kanani Peters, 58, of Pittsburg, California died in Kahului, Maui, Hawai'i on January 23, 2021. He was born in Honolulu, HI on March 3, 1962 and was raised in Nanakuli, HI where he learned the love of Hawaiian Culture; hula, fishing, diving, and canoe paddling.
Jon graduated from Nanakuli High and Intermediate School in 1980-81. He moved to Concord, CA in 1981 and became a cook for over 20 years then found his love as a Para-Educator at La Cheim School in Pleasant Hill.
His passion for darts led him to become the Dart League Coordinator for Antioch and Concord areas where he mentored many up and coming dart players. A large Extended Family was developed.
Jon is survived by his loving wife: Kelley Lynne Peters. Furbaby: Kukui Peters. Brothers: Jared K., Jann K., Jerome K., and Juan J. Peters. Hanai Sisters: Carla Kahala, and Williamina "Ka'apuni" Peters-Wong. Hanai Brothers: John Robert Kanoa, George "Kuhio" Keliikuli, and Graham Weiss. Godchildren: Jann "JR" Peters Jr., and Kekoa Momilani Peters. Namesake: Rhemie Keone Augusto. Nieces and Nephews: Mo'i, Ka, Brada Boy, Hoku, Kehau, Kimo, Ioane, Emma, Jose Boy, Kristine, Brandon, Man, Paka, Hua, Jann Jr., Kalani, Koa, Chaz, Chon, Tita, Chy, Tawny, Rehnee, Animal, Kayla, Meilani and Makua. 46 grand nieces and nephews.
Jon is preceded in death by his Grandparents: William Pila Peters Sr. and Annie K. Kaukani Peters, Ceasar Paishon Jr. and Emma H. Halemanu Paishon. Father: William Pila Peters Jr. Mother: Kalei Ralia Paishon Peters. Brothers: Joseph K., Jose E., Jacques K. "Kalani", and Jensen N. Peters. Furbabies: Buddy, Ehu, Mele, Belle, and Blackie.
