She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Shallow, parents, William and Ruth Blader, brothers, Dale Blader and Milton Blader.
Janet was born in Wautoma, Wisconsin May 18, 1937 to William and Ruth Blader. After graduating high school and becoming a lab technician, she met Richard Shallow and married September 13, 1959. They moved to Alaska and raised Catherine, Susan, and David there. Janet bought property on Maui after Richard passed away and eventually moved there. Maui was always home for Janet and she loved to be on her farm with her peacocks, chickens, cats, her Maui Ohana and beautiful views of Haleakala Crater and Haleakala Ranch. She will be missed by all who knew her and remembered for her determination, strong will, humbleness and delightful sense of humor.
At this time there are no funeral arrangements or memorial services planned. The family would like to thank Anjani, Debbie and Sarah who so lovingly took care of our mom. We are so appreciative for all that you have done along with her Maui Ohana for all your kindness, generosity, and help. We are grateful to the Maui Memorial doctors and nurses who cared for mom and we sincerely thank Hospice Maui for all they did to make mom comfortable in her final days. If desired, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice, Maui Humane Society (mauihumanesociety.org) or Hospice Maui (hospicemaui.org).
