Harry M. Kochi's Obituary
Harry M. Kochi, passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 2, 1943, in Honolulu to Koki and Masako Kochi, he grew into the steady, hardworking, stubbornly caring man we called our Dad.
Dad proudly served in the Army from 1961 to 1964, built two businesses literally from the ground up – first a carpeting company and later a roofing company, where he eventually retired. He spent his off time playing Golf whenever possible, building friendships till the very end. When he wasn’t golfing, he could be found fixing just about anything or at least finding a way to make it work. “Improvise” was his favorite word. He lived his life always helping others, especially the elderly, never asking for anything in return. He brought us along on those visits, teaching us - sometimes with words, often without - that you take care of people, you work hard, and show respect.
He leaves behind his wife, Ann, and us, his children – Hersha (Ali) Ramos, Harry Jr. (Natalie), Anson (Alisa), and Michael (Marissa) - as well as his grandchildren Gaebriel, Anaia, and Ari, who he spoiled endlessly. He is also survived by his sisters Ruth, Esther, and Eleanor. We will miss him more than words can say.
A celebration of his life will be held next year.
