Gene Visitacion's Obituary
Gene “Virgie” Visitacion, passed away at Kula Hospital in the care of Hospice of Maui, in Maui, Hawaii, from breast cancer on August 12, 2021. She was 74 years old and only a couple months shy of her 75th birthday.
Gene was born on October 6,1946, in a corner of a world called Baccarra, a small farming town in the Philippine’s province of Ilocos Norte. She attended the local schools including Baccarra High School where she thrived as a track and field athlete. She later went on to Northern Christian College for 2 years, but the larger world beckoned her and in 1966, she immigrated to Hawaii where she remained until her death.
Professionally she was part of the housekeeping staff at Shriners Hospital and later at the Honolulu County Club. Personally she loved traveling to Las Vegas, joined with her brothers. She lived an unconventional life and loved her family and friends the best way she knew how.
She is survived by her brothers Glen Visitacion(Mena-spouse ), Fred Visitacion(Linda-spouse ). She is predeceased by her Parents Juan and Luisa Visitacion, Brother Wille Visitacion(Balbina”Letty”-spouse), and Sister Estrella Pascua(Hospicio -spouse deceased).
