Gena Midori Hashimura's Obituary
Gena Midori Hashimura, beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece and cousin passed away on September 22, 2025 at the age of 50.
Born on May 19, 1975 in Wailuku, Hawaii, Gena was the daughter of Glynis Joan Hashimura (Grandparents: Tsugio & Honorata Hashimura) of Lahaina and Gregory Patrick Suetos (Grandparents: Josephine A. Haupu & Gregorio Suetos) of Lanai City. Gena's great-grandparents, grandparents and Aunty Lynette Kaopuiki helped to lovingly raise her.
Gena grew up in Lahaina. She attended Kamehameha III Elementary School, Lahaina Intermediate School and graduated from Lahainaluna High School.
Gena spent her free time hanging out with her classmates and friends. She occasionally traveled to the mainland.
Gena enjoyed working retail and interacting with customers. She worked at Nagasako in her earlier years and later for Tori Richards.
Gena had a passion for dogs. She was patient and dedicated to them. Over the years, she raised and trained several dogs.
Throughout her life Gena displayed a quiet fearless courage. Even during her illness and dialysis treatments she rarely complained.
In addition to her parents, Gena is survived by aunties, uncles, cousins and many other relatives that recognized her kind heart.
Services to honor Gena's memory will be held on January 9, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 85 Ulupono Street in Lahaina. Visitation with family 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Services 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Refreshments to follow in the cultural hall.
