Fumie Takamura passed away on January 9, 2021. She is survived by daughters Cynthia (Thomas) Tashiro and Myra (Noel) Ono; son Glen (Yuna) Takamura, and daughter-in-laws Colleen (Gilbert) and Yoshiko (Leonard) Takamura; 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Private services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2021, at 12:15 p.m. at Nakamura Mortuary, Officiated by Rev. Shinkai Murakami of Wailuku Hongwanji, with Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park.

Mrs. Fumie (Kitagawa)Takamura, age 100, died peacefully in the presence
of her loving family in Hospice Maui on January 9, 2021, Wailuku, Hawaii.
Fumie is survived by daughters Cynthia Tashiro, Las Vegas, NV and Myra Ono, Honolulu, HI; sons Gilbert and Glen Takamura, and daughter-in-law Yoshiko Takamura of Maui, HI; brothers Chisato and Sunao Kitagawa, California; 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Fumie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, and son Leonard. Fumie was born on Nov. 12, 1920 in Puunene, HI to Katsuki and Tsumo Kitagawa.
She married Kenneth Kazuo Takamura on Nov. 12, 1939. She worked for Maui Land and Co., and in retirement, she pursued various arts and crafts projects, gardening, and relaxed by doing word puzzles.
A funeral and burial are planned in the near future at Nakamura Mortuary with burial at Maui Memorial Park.
