Nakama, Fern's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Fern Toyo Nakama announces her passing on May 7, 2026 in Waipahu. She was 92 years old. She is survived by her daughters Suzanne Spencer and Joyce Shimazu. Fern was born in Kin, Okinawa where her brother, Seiyu Ginoza and sister Sumiko Ikehara still reside. Fern was pre-deceased by her husband, Shinken James Nakama. Her family will be holding a private memorial service.
