Emerson Acoba Ramelb's Obituary
Emerson Acoba Ramelb, 64, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in his home surrounded by family.
He was born on July 20, 1961 in Wailuku, Maui and raised in Lahaina where he graduated from Lahainaluna High School. He later continued his education on the mainland, earning dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Auto Diesel Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering Technology from the Oregon Institute of Technology.
Emerson dedicated 30 years of service to the State of Hawaii, Department of Public Safety. He began his career as an Adult Corrections Officer at the Maui Community Correctional Center and later served as a Parole Officer with the Hawai’i Paroling Authority, where he retired. Throughout his career, Emerson’s work reflected his deep sense of responsibility.
Beyond his work, Emerson found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, diving, following sports and taking part in fantasy football. More than anything, he treasured his time with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lili Ramelb; children, Andres J. Ramelb, Sherilynn Ramelb, Brielle Ramelb; sister, Elsie Brink and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Andres Ramelb, his mother, Remy Ramelb, and sister, Gloria Ramelb.
A service will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 9am-12pm. Public visitation will be from 9:00am to 10:00am, with service to begin at 10:00am.
Emerson will always be cherished as a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Though our hearts are heavy, we will remember him with love and miss him deeply.
