Eldrian "Al Dread" Pi'ilani Edlao, 57 was born on March 26, 1967 to Mariano Edlao Jr. & Geraldine Ka'alakea Edlao.
Al (affectionately known by many)
passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Al worked as a Building Maintenance worker at Hale Makana O Waiale. Al loved music, reggae music. He was an original member of the group Homestead. Al will always be remembered for his songs like Try Again, I won't close my eyes, trotting, and Can I get a piece of your time.
Al is survived by his mom, Geraldine Ka'alakea Edlao, Sisters Evette "Tita" Edlao, and Davelyn "Kahealani" Hoewa'a, a brother
Deyrek "D's" (Kiley Kuailani) Edlao. He is also survived by his nephews & nieces Kekai, Kawehi, Layson Kainoa (Rosie), Kalei, and Kapolinahe Hoewa'a. Mana (Rebecca) Kamaka-Edlao & Bula Kamaka. Nels (Paula) Fa'aui, Kalai (Maleha), DJ (Braysha), Kota and Wali Kuailani Edlao. Grand Nieces and nephews Skailee, Halen, Hokuaonani, Toto, Sanai, Christian, Kupa'a, Kalawai'a, Kuahiwi and Lamaku Hoewa'a. And the littlest one, Che Marie Kapunawaialoha Kamaka-Edlao.
Although Al did not have any children, he loved his nieces and nephews as his own.
Al is predeceased by his dad, Mariano Edlao Jr., brother-in-laws Lance "Kalei" Hoewa'a and Douglas "Bud" Lau, grandparents Kahu David & Naina Ka'alakea, and Mariano & Maria Edlao Sr.
