Edward "Ed" Quinabo's Obituary
Edward “Ed” Quinabo passed away on November 14, 2025. He took his last breath at home in Wailuku, beside his children, LuShanya, Colten, Kirt (son-in-law), and his dog Nova. He was 71 years old.
Ed was born on February 15, 1954 in Makawao to Silverio and Margaret (Uweko’olani) Quinabo. He was their second child of six. He was a loving, hardworking and respected man who provided for his children, grandchildren and loved ones. He also loved football; many remember him playing at St. Anthony High School, where he graduated. He was a retired Ironworker known for his agility and bravery in welding at incredible heights. When no one else would, Eddie would go.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Briani, his granddaughter, Hunter Balberdi, and his siblings: Leroy, Yolanda and Herman.
Ed is survived by his children: LuShanya (Kirt) Marquez and Colten Quinabo; grandson Sage Balberdi; step-grandchildren Tysen Marquez and Taylor (Chris) Enojardo; brother Kamehamameha “Kam” (Dawn) Quinabo, sister Darlene Quinabo and his niece and nephews.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at a later date.
Mahalo to Maui Memorial Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Hospice Maui and Pharmacare staff, especially Dr. Poon, Nurse Terina, and Nurse Kawena. A Mahalo Nui to all who came to visit with him while he was in the hospital and later at his home - his face and spirits lit up with each presence, and we (his children), loved seeing that.
