Braxton Tabb III's Obituary
Braxton Tabb III was born In Alexandria VA on Dec 5th, 1943, to Braxon Tabb II and Garnett Fauntelroy. He was very well educated coming from a family driven by education and attended Sain Stephens episcopal school for boys where he graduated as co-valedictorian. He then attended college at Washington and Lee in Lexington VA, where he majored in physics and graduated in the class of 1965. Then he went into the Navy and graduated naval pilot school in Pensacola, FL as a navigator. He then spent time on the Nuclear Aircraft carrier Enterprise, and it broke down in Hawaii where he the ship spent a few months docked in Hawaii. He then met his future wife Suzanne Corlet Jackson in Honolulu where she was attending graduate school at University of Hawaii where she was studying French Polynesia islands. Braxton then after the Navy went back to University of VA where he studied computer science and then eventually graduated with his masters at University of Colorado where he attended many football games and worked in a service fraternity where they had to work and usher Co football games. He then went to Temple University in Philadelphia PA and got his medical degree. He worked as a doctor briefly in Colorado and then moved to San Diego where he got his law degree from San Diego State. He also taught HS physics in Alexandria, VA and taught Physics at Strayer University when he lived in Maui. Braxton was an excellent athlete and great at math/physics per his sister Ellen. Ellen was the better swimmer though and when she could beat him in long distance swimming it challenged him to swim better and ultimately a love for the Ocean and he loved his Maui Ocean and beach with beautiful sunsets. He was an avid scuba diver in California and the Bahamas when he had free time. Braxton lived in VA, Boulder CO, West Chester PA, San Diego CA, Wilmington DE, and then Maui, HI over his lifetime.
Braxton is survived by his two children Kathy Sampson who lives in Garmisch, Germany and his son Benjamin Tabb who lives in Newark, DE. He is also survived by his older sister Ellen Latane Tabb who currently resides in their childhood home in Alexandria, VA. Braxton can be remembered by his loving Maui community for loving the pets of all his wonderful neighbors and he was adored by many as he would love to pet sit and walk dogs for others as he settled down in the end of his life at Kamalani Condos. He also loved working for Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays where he was so helpful in booking amazing activities for all those visiting Maui or locals who needed great conversation. He also assisted many older citizens with their senior care health packages through Humana services. He had so many annuity certification and life insurance certifications through Humana in his older years. Braxton will be missed by the Maui community, but his spirit lives on in every sunset and every dog and cat wondering the island hoping to meet a local as friendly as Braxton. RIP Braxton Tabb!
