Betsy Yoshida's Obituary
Betsy Komoda, 91, was born in Makawao and passed gracefully in Kula. She has joined her husband of 61 years, Akira Yoshida, in peaceful eternity. Betsy was a kind, thoughtful, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She worked at Komoda Store, Toda Drugs, and retired from Better Brands. She loved playing cards, lunch with her friends, trips to Las Vegas, and watching all sports. Most of all, she was so proud of and adored her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her, but she will always be in our hearts.
Betsy is survived by her sons, Wendell (Carrie) and Colin (Leimomi); her grandson, Cole, and granddaughter, Ashley; her sister, Arlene Kiyoko (Akira) Watanabe; and brother Nobu (Mildred) Komoda. She was predeceased by her husband, Akira; mother and father, Maki and Motoichi Komoda; sisters, Hatsue Tengan, Flora Shizue Taketa; and brother, Shinichi Komoda.
A special thanks to the staff, nurses, and doctors at Maui Memorial Medical Center, Hale Makua, Maui Hospice and her foster home caregivers for all the love and care they gave Betsy over the years.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Please, no koden.
